Environmental & Social Governance Report 2025/26

Responsible business. Measurable progress. A clear plan for what comes next.

At CDS Print Services, responsible business is about more than setting targets. It is about understanding the impact we have on our people, our communities, our supply chain and the environment — and being transparent about the progress we are making.

Our Environmental & Social Governance Report 2025/26 brings together our latest environmental and social performance, covering our own operations as well as the wider contribution being made through our UK supplier network. The reporting period covers 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026 and is informed by the National TOMs and Global Reporting Initiative standards.

Our year in numbers

During 2025/26, CDS Print Services continued to make measurable progress across waste, materials, energy and community impact.

But our impact extends well beyond our own sites.

The strength of our supply chain

As a print management business, the performance of our supplier network is an important part of our wider environmental and social impact.

Our 2025 supplier assessment highlighted the scale of activity taking place across that network, including:

  • 17,143 tCO₂e of reported carbon-emissions reductions
  • 413,160m² of forest planted through reforestation schemes
  • 6,335kg of single-use plastic packaging eliminated
  • 1,310 weeks of apprenticeships completed
  • More than 21,600 hours of volunteering
  • Over £240,000 raised for local initiatives through donations, fundraising and contributions.

For our clients, this matters. It means that the decisions we make around print production, sourcing and supplier selection can help support wider environmental and social objectives too.

Supporting people and communities

Our approach to ESG is not limited to carbon and materials.

The report also covers our work around employee wellbeing, training and education, equality and inclusion, apprenticeships and community engagement.

All CDS Print Services employees have access to volunteering opportunities, while our partnerships with organisations including Ahead Partnership and Business in the Community enable our team to support young people preparing for employment and provide one-to-one coaching for people looking to return to work.

We have also continued to invest in employee development, introducing a new learning platform during 2026 to make professional development, role-specific training and wellbeing resources more accessible across the business.

Continuing our journey

We know responsible business is an ongoing process.

Our next areas of focus include climate action, health and wellbeing, and training and education, supported by commitments including a minimum 5% annual reduction in carbon emissions across all scopes. Alongside this, the introduction of product-level carbon footprinting to give clients greater transparency around their print requirements.

These are not isolated ESG initiatives. They form part of how we want CDS Print Services to operate: making better-informed decisions, working closely with our partners and helping our clients achieve their own responsible-business objectives.
