Contact CDS Print Services to explore how we can help you deliver impact with purpose.rsive experience centred on the life and legacy of Charles Waterton—a 19th-century environmentalist and Wakefield native who created the world’s first nature reserve.
Waterton’s letters, written over 200 years ago, reveal a man ahead of his time: campaigning against pollution, protecting wildlife, and advocating for nature’s role in human wellbeing. These powerful messages formed the backbone of the exhibition, supported by contemporary paper sculpture from local artist Andy Singleton, animation by Charlotte Blacker, and contributions from national figures including Sir David Attenborough, Michael Palin, and Liz Bonnin.
To reflect the exhibition’s environmental ethos, Wakefield City Council asked CDS Print Services to produce a unique and sustainable set of wall graphics. Our team proposed printing directly onto responsibly sourced Birch Plywood using recyclable inks—a solution that not only aligned with the exhibition’s values but also delivered striking visual impact.
The result? A tactile, natural finish that enhances the visitor experience and complements the artistic elements of the exhibition. As one council representative shared:
“The material works so well and I’ve had so many positive comments on how well it complements everything.”
This project also showcased the strength of our supplier network. Working closely with Aurora Graphics, we ensured every detail of the brief was met with precision and care. Their execution of the plywood prints was exceptional, and the final installation has been widely praised by visitors and stakeholders alike.
“A World of Good” is more than an exhibition—it’s a reminder of how print can elevate storytelling, connect communities, and champion sustainability. We’re proud to have played a part in bringing this vision to life and grateful to Wakefield City Council for trusting us with such a meaningful project.
